Light of the world stepping down into darkness

The sea represents darkness with the waves we encounter in life. Jesus is the Light of the world stepping down into the darkness and dwelling among us for our salvation and reconciliation with our Heavenly Father. Jesus is the centre of our lives. He is the Light that shines in the darkness, and He can calm the storm. Let's stay focused on Jesus and follow Him!

The Bible verses to be contemplated:

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” (John 1:5, NLT)

“Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, ‘I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.’” (John 8:12, NLT)

The countless descendants like stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore

Indeed, Abraham’s descendants scattered worldwide, especially after the diaspora of the Northern Kingdom of Israel in 722 BC when the Neo-Assyrian Empire conquered it. They were as numerous as the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore scattering all over the continents. Even with modern DNA technology, it is very challenging to trace the numerous assimilated descendants of the ten tribes across the globe. “15 The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time 16 and said, “I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17 I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore . Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, 18 and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.” (Genesis 22:17-18)
