  The sea represents darkness with the waves we encounter in life. Jesus is the Light of the world stepping down into the darkness and dwelling among us for our salvation and reconciliation with our Heavenly Father. Jesus is the centre of our lives. He is the Light that shines in the darkness, and He can calm the storm. Let's stay focused on Jesus and follow Him! The Bible verses to be contemplated: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” (John 1:5, NLT) “Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, ‘I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.’” (John 8:12, NLT)

Conflicts are unavoidable. Conflicts under love yield Godly consequences. Conflicts under hatred yield evil consequences. Once upon a time, there were two boys from two families. Conflicts with their fathers accumulated as they are growing up. One of the boys loved his father very much and his father loved him very much. They are very close, and conflicts developed from being too close for comfort. The other boy resented his father for living up to his expectations, and the father was mostly absent while he was growing up but spoiled him out of false love. Conflicts developed from hostilities. The boys became men. The man who had conflicts under love was spiritually and psychologically healthier in general, and lived an authentic life. The man who had conflicts under hatred was spiritually and psychologically malformed, and lived a split life.

I read "The Emotionally Healthy Church" by Peter Scazzero (2013) almost ten years ago. Now I am looking into “Emotionally Healthy Spirituality” by Peter Scazzero (2017) . More Christian spiritual practices were suggested in the latter publication, indeed more mature. Most Christian spirituality books are abstract to many, but “Emotionally Healthy Spirituality” consists of a balance of theological concepts and practical illustrations with examples. Good reading and practicing materials for laypeople as well! Thanksgiving Day also reminds me to be humble and to glorify God through actions and reflection.

We have little or no imagination for comprehending the evil that originates in our desire to do good, to serve God, to help our neighbors, to make the world a better place... The story of Eve in the garden tells us that a person in a completely unspoiled, attractive, and beautifully idyllic place, with everything anyone could ever want or even dream of, can be deceived into making good into evil... I am no longer surprised that great evil finds its formation in places where people come to worship God yet are seduced into the pleasure of playing God. I am no longer surprised to recognize great evil in places of power, in business...
